TGIF. . . It’s Margarita Time!
Read about my adventure at the Atlanta Occupation last Friday. The article was “most popular” for two days on Pajamas Media and was linked in InstaPundit.
Posted October 24, 2012: Political debates are Dissident Prof's favorite spectator sport, but she was dismayed by the ungentlemanly behavior displayed by the interruptions and "icy stare" at the last presidential debate on Monday. The instant polling that declared a winner, she believes, was conducted on Jerry Springer's audience.
Mary's Contraries for October 16, 2012, the Debates and T-Shirt Edition, by Mary Grabar: In addition to the deconstruction of liberals' debating strategies in Townhall today, Dissident Prof wonders: Should teachers allow their students to watch last Thursday's vice presidential candidates' debate? Would you want a classroom of fifth-graders watching the Vice President of the United States rolling his eyes, smirking, and guffawing with contempt for his opponent?
The Occupation Continues! From the Ivory Tower Out into the Streets.
As I've said before, we can thank our educational establishment for much of this. At the Madison protests last spring, teachers led students in the protests--on behalf of themselves. So if you see a young person with an incoherent sign shouting slogans you can likely thank her teacher.
Posted November 12, 2012: Dissident Prof is sad. She is sad about what has happened to the office of the presidency, as witnessed by the photo of the bus at a polling place in Tampa, Florida. It's funded by a super pac and reads, "Stop disrespecting my president!" It was taken by fellow dissident Tina Trent.
Dissident Prof is saddened by the anger still evident more than fifty years after the passage of a number of civil rights bills. She is saddened by the fact that Chris Matthews on MSNBC said during the debates that the President was due "deference" by his opponent. In other words, the American president should be above questioning.
